]]> For collectors and enthusiasts alike, this Hot Wheels® 1998 First Edition Solar Eagle III is a must-have. The yellow Solar Eagle III is a 1:64 scale model manufactured in Malaysia under the Hot Wheels® brand. It is part of the First Editions series and has never been modified. It is based on the real-life solar-powered electric racer car built by Cal State L.A. Engineering and Technology students.  The Solar Eagle III won the prestigious national intercollegiate solar car race, The Sunrayce 1997. The top section of the Hot Wheels Solar Eagle III features a reflective finish, mimicking the real-life solar panels that power the car. The car sits on three small MC1 wheels, which are not compatible with some Hot Wheels playsets.
